Iran Premier’s Supporters
Rally To Bar Communists

AP (The Associated Press) TEHRAN, Iran—(AP)— Supporters of Premier Mohammed Mossadegh barred Communists from their ranks as they shouted praises for the aged Iranian leader at a rally in Parliament Square.

There was no accurate estimate of the crowd but it did not nearly fill the square, which has been packed by some demonstrations in the past two years. The rally had been called to demonstrate the premier's popular strength to opposition members of the Majlis (parliament) who have been blocking his legislative program.

A strong cordon of police and soldiers, backed by a street barricade of trucks, kept more than 5,000 Communist demonstrators three blocks from the square.
